Cider Season

Standard

The apple that tastes

of slow days of sun,

sweetened by languid kisses

smudged red on pale flesh

and scented with

impossible morning mists,

that apple’s fleeting season

is too soon gone;

best to stick to

the cold harsh nip

of a Granny Smith.
